- 1 Und Hiob antwortete und sprach:
- 2 Auch heute ist meine Klage trotzig; seine Hand lastet schwer auf meinem Seufzen.
- 3 O daß ich ihn zu finden wüßte, daß ich kommen könnte bis zu seiner Wohnstätte!
- 4 Ich würde meine Rechtssache vor ihm darlegen, und meinen Mund mit Beweisgründen füllen.
- 5 Ich würde die Worte wissen, die er mir antworten, und vernehmen, was er mir sagen würde.
- 6 Würde er in der Größe seiner Kraft mit mir streiten? Nein; er würde nur acht auf mich haben.
- 7 Alsdann würde ein Rechtschaffener mit ihm rechten, und auf ewig würde ich meinem Richter entkommen.
- 8 Siehe, gehe ich vorwärts, so ist er nicht da; und rückwärts, so bemerke ich ihn nicht;
- 9 zur Linken, während er wirkt, so schaue ich ihn nicht; er verhüllt sich zur Rechten, und ich sehe ihn nicht.
- 10 Denn er kennt den Weg, der bei mir ist; prüfte er mich, wie Gold würde ich hervorgehen.
- 11 An seinem Schritte hat mein Fuß festgehalten, und seinen Weg habe ich beobachtet und bin nicht abgebogen;
- 12 von dem Gebote seiner Lippen bin ich nicht abgewichen, ich habe die Worte seines Mundes verwahrt, mehr als meinen eigenen Vorsatz.
- 13 Doch er bleibt sich gleich, und wer kann seinen Sinn ändern? Was seine Seele begehrt, das tut er.
- 14 Denn er wird vollenden, was über mich bestimmt ist; und dergleichen ist vieles bei ihm.
- 15 Darum bin ich bestürzt vor seinem Angesicht; erwäge ich's, so erschrecke ich vor ihm.
- 16 Ja, Gott hat mein Herz verzagt gemacht, und der Allmächtige mich in Bestürzung versetzt.
- 17 Denn nicht wegen der Finsternis bin ich vernichtet, noch weil Dunkelheit mein Angesicht bedeckt hat.

Basic Hash Usage Explained
At getBible, we've established a robust system to keep our API synchronized with the Crosswire project's modules. Let me explain how this integration works in simple terms.
We source our Bible text directly from the Crosswire modules. To monitor any updates, we generate "hash values" for each chapter, book, and translation. These hash values serve as unique identifiers that change only when the underlying content changes, thereby ensuring a tight integration between getBible and the Crosswire modules.
Every month, an automated process runs for approximately three hours. During this window, we fetch the latest Bible text from the Crosswire modules. Subsequently, we compare the new hash values and the text with the previous ones. Any detected changes trigger updates to both our official getBible hash repository and the Bible API for all affected translations. This system has been operating seamlessly for several years.
Once the updates are complete, any application utilizing our Bible API should monitor the hash values at the chapter, book, or translation level. Spotting a change in these values indicates that they should update their respective systems.
Hash values can change due to various reasons, including textual corrections like adding omitted verses, rectifying spelling errors, or addressing any discrepancies flagged by the publishers maintaining the modules at Crosswire.
The Crosswire initiative, also known as the SWORD Project, is the "source of truth" for getBible. Any modifications in the Crosswire modules get reflected in our API within days, ensuring our users access the most precise and current Bible text. We pledge to uphold this standard as long as getBible exists and our build scripts remain operational.
